Fundraising for South Asian Cinema

It's not easy for South Asian Filmmakers to raise crowd funding as most of the fundraising websites are based in US or western countries. What are the ways to succeed a crowd fundraising of a Nepali Film where there is no international credit card with the public so they can't even donate to the project. The filmmakers have to rely on international donors who again seem reluctant to have a Nepali film completed.

Some European film foundations set aside money to fund features from poorer nations, simply to help spread the worldwide culture of film. I think that the Dutch have (or had) such a grant, and you'll find others if you do the research (which sucks, in that it eats up so much time, but if it pays off...).

Thank you C.D-Broughton, much appreciated. I am looking for possible options.

One would think, living in an area that does not have all the competition as in a Western Demo as you stated. Would be beneficial, all you need to do is apply the business model and launch in your area. IGE: First was KickStarter, now there are 3 competing.
