Yes, there are several options for short films to apply for grant funding, though I will say that some grants can be more competitive than others. In addition to grants, an alternate or supplementary option may be to find equity funding for your short. With all media, high quality and star power can play a significant role in access to investment. Unfortunately, shorts typically don’t qualify for debt financing because of the smaller budget sizes, but grants and equity are typically sufficient to get these shorts produced and distributed.
