Introduce Yourself : Accelerating Pre-Production Process by John Heiser

Accelerating Pre-Production Process

I've been steeped in developing a New Late Night Variety Talk Show the past few months with the hope of getting some big time streaming network interest.

I've been recruiting help across the spectrum of skilled labor and talent. Such as production assistants, writers, technical staff and stagehands. Most people have a great resume and great talent ... but not all are a good fit for our show. Even more difficult on tight budget for a startup of course.

I'm wondering what any of you have done to tune your "filter" more specifically to what you have needed for previous projects you've been involved in. I need to accelerate the process by only getting the attention of qualified candidates, while at the same time ensuring it's a mutual fit.

I've been working in the TV industry for almost 30 years in a variety of roles ... producer, director, talent (On Camera & Voice), sound / camera engineer, editor, distribution via fiber / satellite, SNG and many global special events for major distributor networks.

Hey John, congrats on the Variety Show - I"m interested to know what it is! Richard "RB" Botto talks a lot about finding the fit for your crew in his book Crowdsourcing for Filmmakers (it's free right now on Audible: https://www.audible.com/pd/B07N6LH733/?source_code=AUDFPWS0223189MWT-BK-...) but a piece of advice is to find groups or online communities that share the same mindset as you and try to find your tribe in there, you'll find the right type of support if you start with the like-minded groups first.
