Donnah Khaemba

Aspiring Scriptwriter From Kenya.

Hello,

My name is Donnah Naliaka, and I’m an aspiring screenwriter from Kenya. I recently discovered my passion for writing stories and scripts.

I’m currently learning and working on my first short script. I’d be incredibly grateful for any advice, encouragement, or resources you might share for someone starting out in Africa.

Hi Donnah Khaemba! It's great that you discovered your passion!

I think that the best advice for when you're starting is to make sure you accomplish your project. Though it's hard at the beginning, you'll learn so much by doing it.

Let us know your country through the wonderful script you'll write. All the best with your process!

Donnah Khaemba

Thank you so much.I truly appreciate the support it means a lot. I'm giving this project my all, and I can’t wait to see where it leads.

You're welcome, Donnah Khaemba. What genre(s) is your short script?

Donnah Khaemba

Thanks for asking.Shadows of Justice is a political-legal thriller with mystery and psychological drama woven in. It centers on a gifted law student uncovering the dark truth behind her father’s murder while navigating dangerous political secrets. It has a tone similar to Scandal or How to Get Away with Murder, but with a fresh and grounded perspective. I’d love to share more if you’re interested.

You're welcome, Donnah Khaemba. Stage 32 has Short Script Coverage if you want to get feedback on your script when it's ready (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/coverage/buy?id=38).

And you could post your script on your profile. That's how I sold four short scripts to a producer (that and networking). Click the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and select “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu. Scroll down to “Loglines” and click “Add/edit loglines” to the right of “Loglines.” You can also post your script on your profile this way: www.stage32.com/loglines (near the top where it says “Add a Logline”)
