I have over 40 years of experience in all areas of theatre on approximately 150 shows, though I'm semi-retired now, focusing on writing for Musical Theatre and seeking composers with whom to collaborate. Currently I'm seeking theatrical producers for two of the completed shows: "That Jones Boy! Or, the Adventures of a Bastard," a Musical Comedy of Manners adapted from Henry Fielding's classic novel, "Tom Jones," and "Ekaterina," based on the secret diary of Catherine the Great.

Over 40 years of experience in all areas of theatre is really impressive, Robert D. Carver! Congratulations! What's one of your favorite plays you've written?

The most personal of my libretti is "Shape Shifter," for which I started writing a lyric while hospitalized for a mild heart attack a dozen years ago. Once I was released, I wrote the complete first draft in the space of two weeks before suffering a nervous breakdown and being hospitalized again for three and a half months in the psych ward!
Sorry to hear about the heart attack and nervous breakdown, Robert D. Carver. Shape Shifter sounds interesting from the title. Did you rewrite the play?

Rewrites will come when I find a composer.
