introducing myself as the thread suggests. Happy to have found this community. I work best in collaborative situations. I'm a classic procrastinator and need a deadline to finish or someone to hold me accountable. I've written a ton of shorts and have competed in a bunch of 48 Hour Film Projects. The film I wrote for the 2024 summer competition won best film for my city and we advanced to Filmapalooza in Seattle. I have a few feature ideas in the tank, just need to get them on to the page. Again, happy to be here and look forward to working with you.

Thanks for posting the link, Anson Kessinger. I like Modern Love! The title sums up the film, and it's sad that it's really that way in real life.

Maurice Thanks. If you aren't familiar with the project, you're given a required genre, prop, character w/ occupation and a line of dialogue. It was a thrill to be able to write it like that an pull it off. I received a best writing nomination but, am certainly understanding on why in the end I did not snag the win

I use an alarm system to motivate me to get to work because inspiration doesn't come automatically. But when it does come, I try to be ready to capture the idea, which is not always easy, before it flies away. It sounds like you're far more accomplished than me but you're still confident enough to admit you have difficulties and need people to work with. I'm trying to write my show all myself but I know that's all an inner psychological battle with myself and with the world to prove I'm not only not an incapable screwup but an amazing writer, which I am, and also to make up for a lifetime of beating myself up because I didn't believe in myself. Now I'm running from death so that keeps me going every day, hoping desperately to beat that deadline that nobody knows.

Great, Anson Kessinger. I'm looking forward to seeing it! And I lived in Richmond growing up. I remember going to a Richmond Spiders football game as a kid.

I haven't been to The Byrd Theatre, Anson Kessinger. I'd like to one day though. I haven't been to Richmond in a long time. I'm sure a lot has changed.
