So much so that I incorporated it into my day job. I have written one book, I am in the process of working on the edits of my second, and I have a short story series I am writing for teens. I also wrote a script for a short movie, which is in post production now. On my day job, I work for a not for profit, so I developed a creative expression program for youth, and we wrote and filmed a short movie about violence prevention. Looking forward to writing more movies and books!
Thanks Alycia! Yes, it is! Especially since next week they are premiering their movie to a broader audience of community members, and will receive "Oscars" at an awards ceremony.

I have been moved by all of the media attention to violence, involving men against women, men against multiple people, and youth against youth. It has become such a trend to walk around with a gun lately. Whether you believe in gun laws, or banning guns, we all have to agree that lately all across America, guns have been in the wrong hands. As the founder of Future Network Productions I am using my tv show Celebrity Showcase, my radio show Hearnoevil on Blogtalk radio and my Occupy the Corner tshirts to raise awareness and to have individuals take back their communities. As an author I try to put subliminal messages in all of my books so that the youth may absorb some of the Lessons I have learned like in my book Don't be Stupid: Advice for young people and a few old Fools, or in my book DEADBEAT: TAKE CARE OF YOUR DAMN KIDS where I speak to young women, men and youth about child support, gang initiation and the Law regarding child support enforcement. The bottom line is this, you are either part of the solution or part of the problem. I choose to be a part of the solution. So if you want to join me in my SAVE OUR SEEDS initiative google Darlene Lewis and you can join on with me. We can occupy our neighborhoods, and get the guns and drugs off of our streets and get hope back in the hands of our Country.

Well there we have it - proof that you can do what you love while holding down a regular day job. You are an inspiration to me Michelle! Thank you and keep it up
I keep wishing that I could make a difference with my position in the advertising and marketing field - to speak up for positive change, raise awareness, etc. - but I have yet to do it confidently. Darlene, you and Michelle have given me a wake up call - those of us who have the opportunity to use the media at our disposal to speak up must not wait for the opportunity but just do it, just make it happen. Here in South Africa there has been such wonderful and massive positive change over the last 2 decades but there is stil so much to do. Especially for children and women who not only need protection but also empowerment and the courage to take their lives and power back. And also for men who have lost their way and their voice in this new age of equality. We need to remember that those who are most viscious are the most terrified. I once heard that Mother Theresa apparently said something about never supporting an 'anti-war' rally because being anti-anything just makes what we are fighting against stronger (based on one of the laws of nature about opposing forces). But she would support a pro-something rally - like pro women's empowerment, pro child safety, etc. Let's keep growing the positive
