Introduction <3

Hi, All!

I'm a director based in Asheville, NC and I'm working on building my network and getting more work - aren't we all?

I got my start in theatre as an actor, then moved to directing for the stage, which I did for 20 years before a film acting coach grabbed me and told me I should try film acting. I did the grind with an agent for a few years before trying my hand at making my own film and I was instantly hooked - for the first time in my life, I feel I've found my true calling.

Directing marries my visual brain and affinity for art with my love for coaching actors and my fondness for collaboration. I am passionate about telling stories and I can't wait to work with you!

My current film project is currently rendering and I'm biting my nails hoping this will be the final. The trailer is attached.

My current life consists of my directing work but also parenting two super intense kids, trying to have a semblance of a social life, getting outside as much as I can, and taking time for spiritual practice.

Can't wait to connect!

Welcome to the community, Missy Bell. I live in Greenville, NC. Fun fact: Sandra Bullock went to the university here.

"I'm working on building my network and getting more work - aren't we all? Yes and we're in the right place for that! :D

"Opprobrium" looks interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Hi Missy, so nice to meet you!! Your trailer draws the viewer in! Are you preparing a festival run?

Excited to hear your stories too - what was your first acting gig?

Maurice Vaughan thanks so much!

Shellie - thanks so much for your kind words re: the trailer. I'm working with the EP to decide the best route for the film to take. Currenting prepping for a female filmmakers screening in which it will likely be included.

My first acting gig - technically I played many MANY parts in church plays as a very young person (my dad is a pastor). My first paid gig was in a one act play festival in a play written by one of my college professors. My first agent acquired gig was a Super Bowl promo for NASCAR in 2017.
