Hi everyone! I am an Italian writer who moved to London 6 years ago to study Screenwriting at The London Film School, and fell in love with the city... so I am still there! In the past few years, while working as runner, training in Development, and now being a producer's assistant, I have tried to build a portfolio of work. I currently have three pilots (one co-written) and one feature film (co-written), and I am working on a solo feature script. The genres vary from sci-fi to period drama to mystery thriller and horror - but I am terrible with comedy so I definitely can't pull that off! I am trying to gather the courage to finally present my work to UK agents in the autumn, any tips and advice is more than welcome! And also any success stories from non-English native speakers finding representation in UK or US to boost my courage :)

Jessica Romagnoli I'd imagine if you're in London and doing all that you are in the industry you're poised for great results sooner than you know!

I'm a fan of English T.V. is it hard for an American to get a script read by an English production company

Hi Wayne Cothron for what I have seen it is not hard at all! Where I work they constantly receive scripts from the US :)

Welcome to the community, Jessica Romagnoli! I don't blame you in the slightest. London is one of my favorite cities!
Have you tried pitching your scripts to any Stage 32 executives? That could be a way to both boost your confidence and put your work in front of potential reps. You can sign up for pitch sessions here: https://www.stage32.com/scriptservices/pitch-sessions OR you can have an executive of your choosing read your script for consultation here: https://www.stage32.com/scriptservices/coverage/buy?id=29 Definitely reach out to our Director of Script Services, Jason Mirch, who is excellent at matching projects with potential executives (or maybe managers, in your case): J.Mirch@stage32.com
If you haven't already, definitely check out the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting) to meet more like-minded creatives!

Ciao Jessica, I am new to the writers room. I have written a script Finding Alma for Feature film. I am currently doing rewrites on this Drama/Female coming of Age story but am looking for a co writer to bring it to the next level with me. Being Italian, I think this story would be of interest to you. I am not able to pay now but am willing to share equally with Credit and profit when it is sold to production company. See my Profile and Logline and Synopsis if interested. Thanks, Alice
