I want to write professionally. I recently joined Stage32 in order to get my work produced. If you are interested in working with me, please do not hesitate to send me a message. I look forward to hearing from you!
You're welcome, Tim Bragg. When I read this on your profile, "Formed from manipulated material, this cone shape decided to become a writer...," I thought about the movie "Coneheads."
Hi Tim, welcome. We have some great webinars on getting your work produced and working with producers. Here are a few recommendations. Reach out to me if you'd like more recommendations.
I am going to start building my network. I am looking for producers, but is it best to build my network with only producers or everyone? I do not want to go left and add people that will not move me in my direction.
Maurice I had the coneheads in mind when I wrote that and I wanted a silly introduction. Coverfly has suggested I reconsider and do something more serious, but I have ignored Coverfly, however I do have a professional bio in my pitch decks.
It's best to build a network with everyone, Tim Bragg. Producers, actors, directors, crew, agents, distributors, etc. That way you can learn different areas of the industry. And plus, for example, if you build relationships with actors, that could lead to you writing scenes or scripts for them, which means you're building a portfolio of produced work.
"Coverfly has suggested I reconsider and do something more serious." A writer's bio can be serious, but I feel a writer's bio can also reflect their voice.
@Martin and Tim - Say I have a movie idea and I highlight it to you and you see a potential in it can we find a way to work on it (possible production)
Coverfly is screenwriting competitions and they rank your scripts if you place in the semi-finals or higher and your script is eligible for the red list, it is a good way to get exposure if you are a newer writer. I started out with Coverfly and made their red list twice.
@Tim - thanks for an info about a coverfly - so about finances n producer, I have non for now - currently am looking for people to work with given that one may be interested in the ideas I may have
I am wrong, there is no charge. I hit subscribe to crowd funding and finance to see what would happen and it added to my subscribe. It is the private lounge that has a fee.
Oh ok, I see, Tim Bragg. Yeah, that private Lounge is for the Writers' Room. The Writers' Room is great! It's one of the best features on here. It has live events with executives/agents/managers/producers/etc., Pitch Practices, free webinars/webcasts, Writer's Cafes (which is like a writing accountability group that meets throughout the week), discounts, and more. It costs $39.00 a month. You can get a free month by emailing writersroom@stage32.com.

Welcome to the community, Tim Bragg. There are A LOT of talented people on here to work with. My biggest advice is to network/build relationships in the Lounges (https://www.stage32.com/lounge), the Blogs (https://www.stage32.com/blog), and the Writers' Room (https://www.stage32.com/writers-room).

Hi, Happy. I've heard of Coverfly, but I don't really know what it is. Maybe someone else will be able to explain what it's about.
