Hello, Stage32 Community!
I’m Rekha, an aspiring screenwriter from Bangalore, India. I spent a few years in the IT industry before switching to pursue my lifelong passion for writing—a world that’s intrigued me since childhood.
It might sound clichéd to say authors like Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle sparked my love for mysteries, but as a fan of Golden Age Mysteries, I’ve also been influenced by writers like George Bellairs, whose quirky take on detective fiction inspired me to create character-driven stories with flawed yet relatable protagonists—and villains.
I run a book review blog where I collaborate with renowned publishers and authors in the literary world. In late 2024, I decided to dip my toes into screenwriting and novel writing because... why not?
I recently completed my final revision of a pilot script for a TV series—an atmospheric, high-stakes mystery thriller featuring assassins as protagonists. (Why should do-gooders and heroes have all the fun?) The series draws inspiration from Tess Gerritsen’s Martini Club and Steph Broadribb’s Retired Detectives mysteries.
I'm currently developing a pitch deck and series bible, with plans to start pitching by the end of February or early March.
While I’m new to screenwriting, storytelling is in my DNA. My writing style can be defined as a mix of quirky and intense, perfect for mysteries and thrillers with a dash of dark humor. I often explore themes of justice, secrets, and survival—honestly, what’s more mysterious than life itself?
Oh, and I’m a Trekkie for life—though I’m still getting the hang of Jedis and Jar Jar Binkses. Patience, Star Wars fans! (May the force of patience be with yousa!)
I dream of seeing my series on leading OTT platforms - like the binge-worthy shows that keep viewers glued to their screens (The Night Agent, The Madness, and Missing You, to name a few).
I'm looking forward to collaborating with industry professionals seeking a fresh voice. Along the way, I'm also excited to connect with fellow writers and exchange experiences about the industry.
Thank you for reading my intro. I look forward to connecting.

Maurice Vaughan Thank you :)
You're welcome, Rekha Rao. You could post your pilot on your profile when it's ready. Producers search profiles on here for projects. Click the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and select “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu. Scroll down to “Loglines” and click “Add/edit loglines” to the right of “Loglines.” You can also post your pilot on your profile this way (near the top where it says “Add a Logline”): www.stage32.com/loglines
I don't know the copyright laws in India, but I suggest registering your pilot with the Copyright Office there before posting your pilot online.

Maurice Vaughan I'm a little wary of the copyright issues that might rise on posting a pilot. I'll have a look at the copyright laws in my country, get my pilot script registered, and then post it.
Thank you for the heads-up. I knew I could post loglines but didn't know of uploading scripts. That helps a lot. :)
