I am new at editing. What editing program would you recommend for editing short films? I’ve been using Adobe Premiere Pro, but it takes up too much space on my hard drive. Plus, I need to get a one-time purchase option rather than a subscription. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi Gisele Orellana ! I use DaVinci Resolve. Started working with the free version and recently upgraded to the full Studio version. It's becoming a new industry standard. You can learn on the free version and then when you decide you want to upgrade to get all the features, it's a one time buy of $295.

I use DaVinci Resolve as well as Premiere Pro. However, I'm really beginning to like the integration with Fusion and Davinci's Coloring abilities.

Thank you, Chris. Since you have used both, which takes les space of your hard drive?

Daviinci. It also doesn't leave that bad nasty TEMP file that Adobe products never seem to delete.

If DaVinci is what you're after, don't miss this month's July FIlmmakers Club where you can win a free DaVinici Resolve license. Here's a link to a post about it: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/post_production/Stage-32-and-Blackmagic-D...

Davinci Resolve is my weapon of choice, however, if you find it a little demanding (hardware wise it can ask a lot sometimes) you could also try out HitFilm it's another great program for beginners to learn on before upping to Resolve.
