New computer day, how do you transfer your data?

How do you like to transfer your data from one Mac to another? I have tons of junk on my old one from years of personal and business use, so I'd rather not clone it all, and not really looking forward to manually doing it, especially making sure I grab all the preference/saved presets data from my music instrument library applications... Thanks!

Backup to ssd drives /

Save presets/ Apps / samples etc. If you can purchase an 2TB or 4TB Drive .

Keep in mind have old your old mac is and the version. Are you using any thing like logic / final cut. Some old plugins might have to be updated. Which is a job in itself. Be patient is the Key and time.

John Zachary

Whether you clone or manually

Do it be advised back everything up on a SSD drive .later you'll be thankful that you believe me been there done That. Take your time.

I find that over the years using the platters they go bad. And STOP. Im using 4 SSDS 4TB Drives 2 which are backups, So what ever song i am working on i will can work on it on the SSD drive with no problem, or ill work on it on the main computer drive then i will bring it back to An SSD. And of course back it up to one of my back Drives.

I try not to think of the money issue regarding/ When you lose a track well BAD NEWS been there done that.
