I work with independent producers and content creators from the very start of a production's life cycle. From securing chain of title and putting together a viable finance plan to negotiating key talent contracts and distribution terms, this phase demands careful attention to avoid pitfalls down the line. Let's discuss how I can help you build a solid foundation for production and beyond. Are you experiencing questions in similar areas? I would love to hear ahead of my Cannes Stage 32 panel!

Hi, Jackie Ward. Welcome to the community. I'm not producing a project, but I'm looking forward to reading the questions. I hope you have an incredible time at Cannes!

Thank you for opening up this conversation, Jackie Ward! It’s so valuable to have experts like you sharing insights on this side of the process. So often creators are focused on the creative and financing side, but not always thinking ahead about chain of title, underlying rights, or future distribution needs until it’s crunch time.
What do you feel are the most common legal issues that come back to haunt productions later if they aren’t handled properly upfront?

Hi Jackie Ward - I'm curious if you can share some tips for us producers who are trying to make offers for talent who can move the movie on independent films in the sub $5 million range that can move the needle. It's hard to compete with offers that they are getting from larger budget projects coming from the streamers.

Definitely! There is an ever growing trend in actors/directors striving to add to their producing resume so meaningful involvement and credit for a growing production company is always enticing.
