Raise your hand if you’ve been paying attention to RB Botto’s advice about going global… because LuckyChap sure has!

This new venture will be led by powerhouse sisters Mona Qureshi (formerly Netflix UK) and Tanya Qureshi (formerly BBC), both bringing years of experience producing acclaimed series like I May Destroy You, The Night Manager, and This Is Going to Hurt. Together, they’ll focus on creator-driven, globally minded storytelling across film and TV, all while strengthening LuckyChap’s presence throughout the UK and Europe.

The partnership is a strategic move that positions LuckyChap to take advantage of the region’s robust co-production and funding opportunities, proving once again that thinking globally isn’t just smart business, it’s the future of filmmaking.

With more production companies following LuckyChap’s lead and building international partnerships, what do you think this means for the next generation of producers? How are you approaching global opportunities in your own projects or collaborations?

Maurice Vaughan

I've been paying attention, Ashley Renee Smith. When I come up with a script idea, I see if it fits better in the U.S. or another country.

I think it means the next generation of producers should be open to making movies and shows here in the U.S. and globally, which means studying the industries in other countries.

David Taylor

What Maurice said. Plus - the desire for cross collaboration has become very evident in recent requests for TV Series and Feature screenplays. Another recent change is more major production companies reaching out.

Jack Binder

Absolutely! Having a worldwide perspective has always been a part of my process of producing film and television. Having made films overseas and in the U.S. provides a broad knowledge base and experience. Major team-up for Lucky Chap and Mediawan - a powerhouse for entertainment. Bravo!
