New Song Alert: “Welcome to My Deception”
I’m excited to share one of the most intense and personal pieces I’ve ever created: “Welcome to My Deception.” This gothic track features alternating solo male/female vocals, duets, and runs exactly seven minutes — every second carefully crafted to flow perfectly with the lyrics.
Interestingly, this song shares its inspiration with another track I wrote recently, “Purple Fades, Purple Stays.” Both came from the same simple visual trigger: a building covered in purple tiles, some faded at the top, some bright below. That single image sparked two completely different songs — one whimsical and reflective, the other dark, intense, and confessional.
“Welcome to My Deception” explores themes of obsession, introspection, and hidden truths. I never reveal exactly what is being confessed — it’s all about emotion, rhythm, and the journey through the music.
For me, this song is a rare moment of sheer perfection. The vocals, the pacing, and the interplay of the lyrics all came together exactly as I hoped. Even after writing hundreds of songs, it still amazes me when everything aligns so naturally.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Have you ever had a single image inspire multiple, completely different pieces of music?
