I'm starting on a pilot idea and I'm curious to know what's out there. Thought this could help someone else as well http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/tv-pilots-2016-complete-guide...

The good thing is that since you know what's out there you'll know how to make your pilot unique. Good luck!
Thank you for the info, JL. Seems to be a lot of comedy, my weak point in writing. I'm more of a drama, make them cry type of writer.
Looks like more of the usual crap, but still development people don't want to look at anything fresh.

Thanks so much for posting this. I copied the link to my boyfriend, since we are both writing pilots right now. Great info!

I'll have to respectfully disagree with you Dan. Also, being a show runner or creator isn't everyone's goal. And no one is reading spec scripts right now. To even be a staff writer people are reading original specs. So keep writing! Furthermore, it's pretty common practice to pair an inexperienced creator with an eexperienced show runner. Besides everything in screenwriting can be called rare. Instead of trying to place limits, why don't we encourage writers to not just focus on your TV pilot but have multiple scripts. I'd really encourage people to do their research amd not be discouraged ☺.
Crap? Who can tell? But some of them do smell funny.
Some of those shows - especially the comedies - sound very promising. It's interesting to see how many of the new shows are based on successful movies. Good luck to all of the new shows!
Pilots are the new specs for existing shows.
Thanks for sharing this with us, JL! It's interesting to see what's currently in the mix, along with the names attached to each. I find it to be quite motivating! Those interested in writing for TV should persevere! : )
Anyone know if there's a UK complete guide to TV Pilots 2016?
"Charity Case" looks like the best comedy premise of the lot.
Hi Oliver. Well I know they're definitely written, and even shot... sometimes... not always - and not always aired... I guess I meant I was after knowing what series (and/or pilots for series) are in development/production etc.
