Hi - I’d love some feedback on my most recent completed screenplay’s logline. What kind of tone/genre does it evoke (if any)? Anyone guess what contemporary events the film blatantly references?! Nuns’ Referendum Inspired by true life events: As Hitler’s troops rescue Mussolini in the Autumn of 1943, Italian Jews flee for their lives. A reformist Reverend Mother infuriates her fellow Catholic nuns, by insisting they hold a referendum on whether to cast out the Jewish families discovered hiding within the Convent walls.

Sounds like a tense historical drama with the feeling of 12 Angry Men. As far as contemporary events, do you mean the people fleeing Ukraine?
You have a bunch of different premises and I have no idea what the project is about - research how to write a killer logline and remember Steven Spielberg likes his loglines a max of 25 words. Best
Hi Tessa, thanks so much for offering your insight -- very generous of you! I have a pseudonym dilemma. I turned my Nicholl semi-finalist script into a novel -- but decided to use a pseudonym on the novel in case it got panned. (I didn't want it associated w the script which has been doing well in contests.) The dilemma is that the novel has received some very nice reviews on amazon -- but I'm not sure how I should handle the pseudonym in terms of promoting it. It's been reallly hard to try to promote the book bc of the pen name. I mean, I have built up a social media presence over the years -- but my pseudonym doesn't have anything of the sort. Any suggestions for me? Thanks again for your insight! :D
My question is: at Stage 32, when does a quarterfinalist potentially become elevated to a "finalist" on the quarterfinalist list? Huge thanks to whoever wants to weigh in and help me to understand the way this works! Check out my profile at Rebecca Riseling, thanks, Everyone!!!
PS: So my Biopic True Story, HIGHER GROUND, is the screenplay I wrote, and I am one of a somewhat long list of quarter-finalists. That's why I'm wondering how this works! Merci beaucoup!!!
Rebecca Riseling & Deb ( who is Tessa by the way) what does your comment have anything to do with Suzy Miller's post. It is best not to highjack other people's posts and just post your own question in the lounge - Best

I beg everyone's pardon about my faux pas 17 hours ago: I didn't know, as a newbie, even how to post on this discussion, and Most Especially and Very Sincerely I apologize to Suzy Miller, who I ignorantly interrupted by not knowing how to enter an ongoing discussion. Mea Culpa, big-time! I never intended to highjack a soul, just had zero knowledge about entering a lounge, and took a hard pratfall! All my bad, and yes I have a lot to learn about how Stage32 works! Again, I am so very sorry, and Suzy Miller, I love your premise and story line and can't wait to see your movie! Sincere regrets for my accidentally entering into a very intriguing conversation. I shan't forget this awkward moment...my first, and hopefuly my last, foray into territory I am not yet familiar with!
