Good afternoon, My name is Darryl Leggette Williams. I am originally from Harlem, NY. I moved to the Bronx where I have resided for the past 15 years. I have been blessed with a great college experience that has oftentimes challenged me to find greater but realistic ways to empower people with knowledge and support to help them realize their dreams. I am an educator that have spent many years working with adult learners who have shared incredible life stories that I respect admire and believe can benefit others. There have been stories shared about overcoming homelessness, single-parenting, crime and punishment, death and dying and the will to succeed in a World that is changing more rapidly than ever. I have completed a full feature action drama on crime and corruption. I am also midway through a dramatic story featuring teachers. I came to learn about STAGE 32 by searching for a good friend named Ken Koh who inspired me years ago to capture my visions within screenplays. I also had the opportunity to sit and talk with the great late Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis; they autographed a copy of their life story and penned inside of: You have big dreams and great vision, now go for it. I am currently in Houston, Texas working day and night on my screenplay entitle "The Best Teacher." I look forward to connecting and communicating with others to share ideas. Although I have not connected with my dear friend Ken; I am very happy and elated to have found STAGE 32 because I plan to write and tell the story for the World to see. Peace and blessings, Darryl Leggette W.
Hey Darryl, this is Beth from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Screenwriting to Introduce Yourself, as it fits much better there. Let me know if you have any questions, and all the best to you!
Thank you
So fantastic to have you and your talents in this community Darryl! I think you'll love the screenwriting lounge, and I recommend you check out the Happy Writers (https://www.stage32.com/happy-writers) - lots of great screenwriting classes, coverage services, and pitch sessions when you're ready for your work to get made. If you have any questions about the site, please don't hesitate to let me know!
Thank you for the information. I will certainly be following up on it.
Darryl, that sounds like a great project! I worked with adult learners in Latin America and am also trying to write about some of the inspirational teachers I met there. If you ever need a sympathetic ear or some cheer leading, drop me a line.
Thanks, Kerri. I look forwarding to sharing in the near future.
