Hi All: I have finished ACT ONE of my holiday screenplay and I have until late December to submit. Is anyone keen to read the first 30 pages to see if I'm on the right track? Thanks!
If you're writing in acts, you already have an idea of where you want to go. If your deadline is late December, then it's not for this year so don't wait for other's opinions. Just write it out. With all the titles you have listed in your credits, you are more likely far more qualified to judge your own work. As a writer, you should know that you write for yourself and hope that you can build a fan base off of your inspired creative thoughts. Just go for it. On other sites for producers looking for screenplays, I only submit the first 10-30 pages for them to judge if they want to read the rest, but the work is finished. I think you're already on the right track, just remember that what you finish with should be something that audiences will want to revisit every year. A one and done viewing of a film is a failure. Make it memorable and make it part of a family tradition and you'll be fine.
I'll read it and let you know what I think. I do a good amount of this and the people whose works I read usually compliment my comments. Let me know if you want me to read it and I'll send my e-mail address where you can send it.

sorry this is all to new for me . I mite not have the ability to post very soon . so My mistakes wont be anyone's problem anymore . ( I'm just fighting for a reason not to give up like my body has
Jay have you considered entering the pilot in a content or setting up a pitch session with the professionals who connect here? I know they cost money but even one pitch session may tell you a lot. It sounds like your bible is a bit long perhaps? I always thought it was anywhere from 5-20 pages and no longer. I don't know if a producer has time to read fifty pages. Another thought is to consider making a short film as a calling card for your work. I'm on my second now and I'm just in the process of applying for funds. Might that be a possibility?
this just shows how much I put into it I have a shorter 10 page bible . 4 seasons outlined . I have Character Profiles Logline & Synopsis Themes – Core ideas the show explores.
GREAT WORK - As an academic I was a Social Anthropologist. I don't know your literary influences but someone like Ursula K. LeGuinn would be helpful to read as well as N K Jamisin
the show the Phoenix story about what we as a people can be . in a way its also a roadmap to peace . at the end of 4 seasons the world becomes a part of the galactic community , but its a fight all the way .
