How do you pick a script consultant to work with?

Thoughts really appreciated on this one. Looking for someone to work with on a close basis. Personal recommendations are even better. Let me know your experiences. Thanks

You want somebody who has some verifiable film credits as a writer. Internet Movie Database, IMDB.org, is the best place to confirm such information. When I was looking for somebody to do coverage (not a full script consultation,) I Googled the subject matter and got a few names then checked them out in IMDB, weighing number of credits and how current against what they were charging. Finally settled on somebody with a few writing and production credits. She also had a title at a literary agency which, although at the time did not have any current credits, had been involved in the past in some really good projects. I was entirely happy with her coverage. I'm sure the vetting process would be the same for somebody you're looking to establish a long-term rapport with over one project.
