I have been a visitor of Imdb for years but can you actually email agents or actors? is it even a worthy act ? just wondering.....maybe someone else has been curious?

I have an actor in mind for one of my projects and would like to reach out to them but realize this is a mostly futile attempt....

Hi Dillon,
I have been using imdb for a while and I can with confidence tell you that I have received responses from agents and producers. It's all about the content of the email and the project.
Cheers,
Georges.

I went to a Pitchfest last year but before I did I used IMDBPro to research all the companies to whom I wanted to present myself. Out of 20 pitches, I go 9 responses. Targeted marketing works.

I have reached out to many on IMDbPro and have always gotten a response. Realize, however, that if you don't have money or a SOMEBODY already attached, the responses will be, "Thanks but no thanks."

If you're actively creating content, like shorts or POC's or scripts, then it's definitely worth it!

Yes. Worth it.

I renew it every year. It is like a seatbelt. You have to have it when you need it.
I had an IMDBPro sub for a year or so. It's great, but it's expensive if you're not using it on a regular basis. As long as people keep their profile data up to date, the contact info is usually pretty solid. But it's a business were producers move around a lot, so things change. It's not worth it just to get an agent's contact info because agents already list that on their own sites. Same for actors.
