If you're anything like me you probably get ahead of yourself while in the process of writing a screenplay. Before the rough outline is even done I'm imaging it on the big screen at the premiere, flashing the title and casting a glow over the audience. One of the things I always do when I start a new story is I create the movie poster first, before I even write a sentence of prose. I then make that image my background on my tablet and phone so anytime I open them to surf mindlessly, it reminds me I should be working on the screenplay. I also find it helps me nail down the theme and style I'm going for, so as I'm writing I can stay on point.
Does anyone else create the movie poster first, then write the screenplay?

I make the poster first sometimes, Patrick "PK" Koepke. They help me nail down the theme and style too. Sometimes I make different posters for a script.
"I then make that image my background on my tablet and phone so anytime I open them to surf mindlessly, it reminds me I should be working on the screenplay." I like that. Thanks for the idea.
