Screenwriter Joke/Whatcha Working on this Weekend?

Haha I found this joke online. Hope you get a laugh or smile outta it. I'm outlining a feature script and writing a short script this weekend. What's everyone working on this weekend? Are you having any trouble (outlining, writing action lines, writing dialogue, etc.)?

Wal Friman

Why be boring when you can cause a scene? Today a line was born where my character lets her know that he's committed to her by walking away when she wants privacy.

Maurice Vaughan

I like that, Wal Friman. You showed his commitment through action. And someone should put "Why be boring when you can cause a scene?" on a t-shirt. Or put it on a character's t-shirt.

Wal Friman

Haha. That t-shirt has potential.

Maurice Vaughan

I think I'm going to start coming up with t-shirt designs for my characters, Wal Friman. It's a way to reveal things about the characters without dialogue, state the script's theme without a character saying it, make the audience laugh, etc.

Wal Friman

Here's one to start with: "IN CHARGE of my life one day".

Maurice Vaughan

Great design, Wal Friman! And great theme for a script!

Lucy Addams

Loving this joke haha! I'm working on a short for a competition that I stumbled upon. Just 15 pages of horror ^^. Otherwise I submitted another short to a competition that I was working on first, a Thriller about the pros and cons of AI to describe it quickly. Also I'm working on a Horror feature for a while now that's finally shaping up nicely ^^. So I'd say it was a very productive weekend when it comes to writing :)

Maurice Vaughan

Congratulations on the very productive weekend, Lucy Addams! What Horror sub-genres do you write?

Lucy Addams

Maurice Vaughan Thank you! I mostly write psychological Horror, sometimes with or without supernatural elements depending on the story

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Lucy Addams. A Psychological Horror with supernatural elements sounds interesting. I've been thinking about writing a Psychological Horror. Get Out is one of my favorite Psychological Horror movies. What's your favorite/one of your favorites?

Pat Savage

LOL funny guy Maurice Vaughan

Maurice Vaughan I do like "Split" a lot. When it comes to Horror in general I would say I love Scream 5 and 6. Still need to catch up with the rest of the franchise though. But I like the story around Sam and Tara, and as one of my inspirations I like seeing Jenna Ortega performing in it.

Maurice Vaughan

I like Split, Lucy Addams. The Scream franchise too! My favorite Scream movies are 1 & 2. Jenna Ortega is a talented actress! I hope she get cast in your movie one day!

Lucy Addams

Maurice Vaughan she really is talented and I hope so too. If Jenna Ortega would play one of my written characters one day it would be a dream come true. One of many reasons why I'm working so hard to reach that level as a screenwriter that a great actress like her might be interested in one of my screenplays some day.
