the Giant Killer Script Ch 2 Pg 5 review

Page 5 - Five Panels

(Ch2 Pg5 Panel-One)

EXT. MOUNTAIN PASS - DUSK. The road narrows, winding through jagged cliffs and dense forest.

Garerit is moving at a steady pace, his eyes scanning the shadows of the trees. Suddenly, in the distance, he sees a group of soldiers. Their armor glints in the dimming light, and the sound of hooves and voices reach his ears.

SB (Garerit - Inner Thought): What's this? More soldiers? Who would be out here?

(Ch2 Pg5 Panel-Two)

EXT. MOUNTAIN PASS - DUSK. Garerit rides closer, and the soldiers come into full view. The lead figure is unmistakable - Prince Kyduan, wearing his royal armor, riding at the front of the group.

His face is set in a determined scowl. The soldiers behind him are armed and ready for battle, clearly preparing to rescue the princess.

SB (Garerit): Your Highness!

SB (Kyduan): Garerit! What are you doing here?

(Ch2 Pg5 Panel-Three)

CLOSE-UP of Garerit and Prince Kyduan, their eyes meeting. Garerit's expression is a mix of concern and surprise, while Kyduan looks both relieved and weary. Behind them, the soldiers continue to move in formation.

SB (Garerit): I was coming to check on my family in the valley. I heard rumors of the giants... and I had to make sure they were safe.

SB (Kyduan): We're heading to rescue the princess. The giants have taken her to their mountain lair, and we're going to bring her back.

(Ch2 Pg5 Panel-Four)

EXT. MOUNTAIN PASS - DUSK. Kyduan looks towards the darkening horizon. The mood is tense, adjusting his grip on the reins of his horse, the weight of their mission palpable in the air. Garerit, sensing the gravity of the situation, ready to offer whatever help he can.

SB (Kyduan): The giants are ruthless. They'll stop at nothing to keep her captive. We'll need every able-bodied man to join us.

SB (Garerit): Then you'll have me. I've faced danger before, Your Highness. I'm not one to sit idly by.

(Ch2 Pg5 Panel-Five)

WIDE SHOT of the two men as they prepare to join forces. Garerit walks alongside Kyduan, now part of the group of soldiers. The sky has turned dark, with only the last remnants of sunlight hanging over the mountains. The group begins to move forward, resolute and ready for the battle ahead.

SB (CAPTION): Two unlikely allies, brought together by fate. Together, they ride into the unknown, to face the giants and the darkness ahead.

SB (Garerit): Let's make sure we both survive this, Your Highness.

(Ch2 Pg5 Panel-Six)

A wide shot of a fork in the road, surrounded by dense forest and rolling hills. The dirt road splits into two paths-one leading toward a rugged mountain trail where Kyduan and his army continue, and the other crossing an old stone bridge over a rushing river where Garerit is heading. The sun is low, casting long shadows.

GAREIRT: (turning back slightly as he steps onto the bridge)

"Looks like this is where we part ways."

KYDUAN: (on horseback, looking toward Garerit)

"Take care, Garerit. We'll see each other again soon—hopefully in victory."

SFX: RUSHING WATER BELOW

Kyduan's army marches forward, their banners waving in the wind, while Garerit strides alone across the bridge, disappearing into the distance.

(I did have a different idea for this page, Garerit would meet Ky on the way out of the capital and later split ways. not sure if I should redo or rewrite this page.)

Maurice Vaughan

Great job on the page, Gregory Barone! You built Garerit and Ky's relationship earlier in the comic, so it's more impactful when they meet to go into battle together than if they were meeting on the battlefield for the first time.

I think this scene works better than Garerit and Ky meeting on the way out of the capital. Having them meet on the battlefield shows urgency.

Gregory Barone

Maurice Vaughan I think I may have to rework some things on this page, Garerit is off to check how his family is doing and Ky is off with his men to hunt giants, they meet on the road not a battlefield.

Maurice Vaughan

I don't think you have to rework some things on this page, Gregory Barone. I misread it at first. I read the page again and see that Garerit is off to check how his family is doing and Ky is off with his men to hunt giants.

ok and thanks Maurice Vaughan
