Hello, would like to share with you guys here that the screenplay I wrote in 2013 'The Talented Uncle Julien' is finally optioned by Animus Pictures Ltd (UK) with Amancay Tapia as the director. I'm a self-taught writer in Singapore, never thought my screenplay will go that far (geographically). I'm grateful to social media, is it powerful. I knew my director through Twitter and we've never met. But we skyped (7 hours difference between London and Singapore, Singapore being 7 hours advance). Though the distance is far, our vision is near. That's how we work and strengthen the script which is now ready. Ben Richards, the producer is really pleased and excited to produce this film. I hope in the near future, I can share more stories/filmmaking journey with you guys. Remember, dreams do come true :)

Thank you Thank you Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!! Thank you for all the kind words, upon seeing this, it pushes me to work even harder. I still have many other screenplays, any directors or producers here wanna take a look? :p Responding to Preston Poulter's question - I met my director (Amancay Tapia) on Twitter through a mutual friend. After reading, she showed my screenplay to an actor who is her close friend, Ernesto Cantu (World War Z). Ernesto liked the screenplay very much and introduced Amancay to Ben Richards (CEO of Animus Pictures Ltd). Ben read the screenplay and liked it lots. That's how it worked :)

Thank you Phillip :) yes, it is amazing to get films made this way. Latest update, a Canadian producer has just joined as co-producer of this project. I'm so thrilled. Getting the project into the hands of the right people is indeed very very difficult. I guess as a writer, besides writing, we need to do research as well, see what producers tweet, what are the producers' interest... In my case, the story is about art, so I have to get 'art' people in. That's how I got my 2nd producer involved.
The title here says 'Screenplay Optioned' not a film got made. So as a writer, I can call it an achievement. I'm not a writer/producer like you. I need someone to acknowledge my work and here after 2 years, I did it. Don't post intimidating questions that will scare off aspiring writers. This announcement serves as an inspiration and belief to writers who are in doubts of their dreams. I trust my producer will do his best and I respect every effort he makes. I don't have to question him and demand answers from him. He's the CEO of his production company and he knows what it takes to make a film. I trust him completely.

And yet more proof that geography means less and less with each passing day and, of course, that creativity is universal!

Great to hear, Kaede!
So thrilled to hear things continue to smoke for you, Lee.
You know what Gordon Gecco said about sleep!
Thank you Lee, yes, I'll be on standby for the Wild Wild ride, it's a crazy journey I know. I've just gotten the screenplay option contract. So from now on, no turning back. Will work with a positive mind and keeping the faith.
