As a VFX Art Director at Sony, I was involved in the creative process for several well known film: CONTACT, SPIDERMAN I & II, CASTAWAY, CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE, WHAT DREAMS MAY COME, PETER PAN, STUART LITTLE I & II, THE FORGOTTEN, THE POLAR EXPRESS, WHAT LIES BENEATH, GODZILLA, CURSED and Disney's THE HAUNTED MANSION. Currently I'm creating story scripts with in-depth characters whose pivotal arc is bound to set the stage for life changing inspiration.

Whether for a Commercial, Short, TV Pilot, Family Feature or 1900's Drama... or even a PSA, I believe filmmaking is the best medium to touch a person's heart, soul and mind.

SPIDERMAN I & II (2002 - 2004)
Film by Sam Raimi Digital Costume Creation/ Matte Paintings All time FAV film to work on. Love costumes & the story line created a box office hit for Sony! Starting with lots of R&D, I worked closely with James Acheson, (costume designer for BRAZIL), to come up with a pattern that would create an illusion of defined/cut muscles...AND wouldn't strobe on camera. Thousands of uniquely rendered details, in a life-sized digital file, was then printed on fabric (custom fit for Toby Mc Guire & his doubles). FUN!
Columbia Pictures Animated Logo (2004)
Film by Sony Pictures Entertainment VFX Artist I received a blurry shot of the Columbia Lady logo and had to reconstruct her completely to a much higher res version. (especially her face so that her features maintained her original likeness). I know this is not a 'film' but I really enjoyed this small but big project!
THE POLAR EXPRESS (2003 - 2004)
Film by Sony Pictures Imageworks VFX Artist Assist in digitally building the Int. & Ext. of the train using Photoshop. Also had fun creating a birthday card for Bob Zemeckis with him as the CG Train Conductor, instead of Tom Hanks :-)
CASTAWAY (2003)
Film by Bob Zemeckis (Adventure) Matte Artist CASTAWAY director Bob Zemeckis wanted to turn a DAY shot of sky/mountain/ocean into a NIGHT shot with lightening. I created 4 different versions of the shot with extreme lightening highlights and shadows. Towards the end of production, the film had to shortened and you know which shot wound up on the editing floor! Good decision because it was not an important story point to show what mountain Tom Hanks was going to, just show the cave entrance.
PETER PAN (2003)
Film by Sony Pictures Imageworks VFX Artist/ Storyboard Design/Create/Illustrate/Storyboard in Photoshop, the Aurora atmosphere & floating star effects on ship just before captain Hook is overtaken. Used pencil sketch for story boarding the 'Fly' sequence as Pan & kids approach/enter 'Treasure Island.'
THE HAUNTED MANSION (2003)
Film by Sony/Disney VFX Art Direct/ Artist Create in Photoshop concepts for the effects in the crystal ball and witches hair. Storyboard with traditional paint & Photoshop, the moving mural on the ceiling that opens up to heaven.

STUART LITTLE I & II (1999 - 2002)
Film by Sony Pictures Imageworks (Family) Create Design VFX / Character, Winning Character Design for Stuart Little character & bird, Margalo. This painting is one of many concepts I created with traditional medium and/or Photoshop.
What Lies Beneath (2000)
Film by Sony Pictures Imageworks Still Photograph Design/Art One Sheet editing/layout in Photoshop and Photography Still Editing/Art. I received several photos of actors Harrison Ford & Michele Pheiffer to change their image to younger versions or Photoshop them in different locations with current day actors. Also added ghost images in several photos.
CONTACT (1997)
Film by Sony Pictures Imageworks VFX Art Director Create/Design VFX for giant 'Ring Machine' (Int. & Ext.), the 'Ride Sequence' where Jody Foster travels through space, 'Fractal Planet'' (pretty!), then finally, the alien & atmospheric concepts for the planet she lands on. This required a variety of mediums, all the way from pastels, to sketched story-boards, to Photoshop visuals for the director (Bob Zimeckis) to choose from.
