I've just watched ''Unbroken'': It premiers in the US on Christmas day. I'm lost for words... This 'true story' needed to be told for a long time! Debut of A. Jolie as a director was outstanding and the cast did a great job. It's a must-see for everyone (I promise, it will touch your heart, so bring lots of tissue) You will witness the superhuman strength, the real patriotism and a journey of the Man who despite all the brutal torture, came to forgiveness and amnesty. Louis Zamperini was a true hero of our time and he was undoubtedly Unbroken. ~ Ilana Mack

I'm glad to hear you liked it! I have read terrible reviews which disappointed me greatly. It's a subject area I have also written about and I oved the book. Thanks for letting us know :-)
Just an FYI: Angelina has directed before, she directed In The Land of Blood and Honey.
@Philip: where did you read the reviews? @Carlos: Yes, true.
One source I respect is http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/unbroken-2014-movie-review/ A more mainstream source that pulls a few punches but still didn't love it is Variety http://variety.com/2014/film/reviews/film-review-unbroken-1201367581/ Ultimately we should make our own decisions of course. I will still see it but I suspect it will not come close to having the impact on me that the book did.
