Just read this amazing article on the Screencraft.org blog about "writer zombies." Like me, you've probably come across these people. They're the ones in the screenwriting class who want to argue endlessly with the instructor, or troll forums likes these to create conflict with people who are taking screenwriting way more seriously than they are. I've run across a couple of these so-called "writers" who don't even bother to write a screenplay because their story idea is so amazing its just going to get stolen and someone is going to make a boat load of money off their amazing idea. Ok, here's the link: https://screencraft.org/2016/02/25/beware-the-writing-zombies/
I like zombies, and would have called them Writer Posers instead.

Amusing commentary. I'd post more but I have to go do internet research for my ten party mini-series about the history of the Elks Lodge.

I thought 'writing zombies' was the condition we get into after many hours and we can't stop writing - until we need to sleep - or until the fridge is empty.

Good for you, Andrew! Also, why not adapt one of your stage plays to the screen? You already know the central conflict and what makes your characters tick.

One of the main reasons I tend to avoid any kind of writing groups is the plethora of zombies. Lots of people talking about writing, very little actual writing going on. And how many index cards and outlines can you do before you just WRITE already. Or the people who say they've been ruminating on an idea for two years. Come ON. If you aren't writing, you aren't a writer. Period.
