What are the (3) films that have had the most impact on you in developing your screenwriting?

I guess this is my "curiosity morning" . This is the second thread I posted this morning. Because I am such a big Fan of WOODY ALLEN, MEL BROOKS, NEIL SIMON, & BILLY WILDER my (3) Films will come from those gentleman. But again as with my earlier thread I posted I would like to hear your (3) choices first. After a few I will let you know what mine are. Thank you.

Phillip E. Hardy, "The Real Deal"

SHA:

I just had a Woody Allen marathon over the weekend and watched Annie Hall, Manhattan and Midnight in Paris. The most influential scripts for me have been ones that I thought had the most extraordinary visual writing. These aren't necessarily my favorite films but they're up there:

Lawrence of Arabia

The Great Waldo Pepper

To Kill A Mockingbird

(Horton Foote adaption).

Jody Ellis

I've always been such a movie hound, it's hard for me to say. When I was six, I was obsessed with the movie "Love Story" and James Bond "Diamonds are Forever". My dad was a very young single parent and my mom left when I was five. I don't think he knew what to do with a little girl. So we went to the movies, a lot. Every weekend was a double feature at the local movie house, some more appropriate than others. ;-)

As an adult, movies that impacted me include Natural Born Killers, Magnolia and American Beauty. I would love to create something similar someday. Television; definitely Breaking Bad. I've been told by several readers that the tv pilot I wrote a few months ago is "Breaking bad but about sex instead of drugs".

I've been affected by more movies than I can count. It just took me a long time to realize I wanted to write movies, not prose (thought my destiny was the great American novel.) I think my experience with movies as a whole is what drives my writing style.

To all who have responded so far a very grateful thank you. It is always good to share our experiences on this art form we are all so passionate about. I hope to hear more comments soon. Especially from more of my fellow Metro NYC Stage32 members.

Anthony Cawood

Jaws

Stephen Foster

grease, harold & maude, 9 to 5

Philip Sedgwick

Not exclusively the "most" but extremely influential: Breaker Morant, Dances with Wolves, Perfect Getaway.

Craig D Griffiths

First Indiana Jones, Logan's Run and Easy Rider. All started my love of film, which is my motivating factor.

Justin Kwon

The film that had the all-time biggest impact on my writing was "Her" by Spike Jonze. It inspired me to write in the first place and has been the biggest inspiration for me. Then there's "Fury" by David Ayer and "Inception" by Christopher Nolan... Just the first three that popped into my head.

Joe Zarobinski

Aaron Sorkin's work has always had an impact on me when it comes to strong characterizations and constructing dialogue. The Social Network happens to be my favorite film of all-time, so that was what ultimately made me want to really become a screenwriter.

As promised I wanted to wait to heard from a few of you before I revealed what affected my screenwriting most. And as I said in my initial thread they were from the following gentlemen: WOODY ALLEN, MEL BROOKS, NEIL SIMON, BILLY WILDER. So here are my (3) film choices:

1)Annie Hall(my Uncle Hy Anzell was Joey Nickels)

2)The Odd Couple

3)The Producers.
