Several Screenplays - Need An Agent

Hey Everyone,

I have written several screenplays, feature length and shorts with genres such as horror, action, romantic comedies and thrillers. As I assume most writers do, I'm always changing things or updating if it fits to the story. I feel that some of my screenplays are ready for representation and am asking if you guys know the next step in finding an agent or a way to get into contact with a producer. Thanks for your help.

You should start with the list of WGA signatories on the WGA website, and then check each one for their submission policies. You should also try the Happy Writer's Pitch Sessions. It seems like every week there is at least one agent and one manager hearing pitches. And FadeIn's Hollywood Pitch Festival that takes place next weekend probably has at least a dozen agents and managers taking pitches, too.

Good Luck and Happy Writing, Dewayne!

Get a subscription, trial or paid, at IMDB Pro. Look up managers and producers who have made films similar in genre to your scripts or have clients who write similar to what you write. Most times, they'll have email addresses listed. Craft a good query letter and logline, hit Send.

My two cents: You craft a list of agents who will accept unsolicited material. Then you send them three of your best scripts. Don't be surprised if out of 100 agents, only or two respond. But you only need one agent.
