Friends, Romans Countrymen, lend me your ears.
Now, I want to start by saying that I am not in the entertainment business by any stretch of the imagination.
I am simply a blue-collar person who works for a home improvement company.
Now, that being said, I would like to offer everybody here, including the people who created and maintain this site, a proposal for the future of said industry.
I am simply offering this proposal, and you are certainly free to take it or leave it, but I do wish that all of you would at least give it every due consideration.
Here is my proposal, since a number of people, within and outside of the entertainment industry are determined to fight against any pro life laws in general and the honorable state of Georgia specifically, I would like to propose the creation of an entertainment union, if you will.
This union would include every department and division that works in some capacity in said industry, from the executive producer to the maintenance people who keep the standing sets tidy and everybody in between.
I also propose that it be headquartered in the honorable state of Georgia given that seems, at present, to be the epic center of it all.
I also read that Georgia is considered the “Hollywood of the South”.
I will be writing a letter to the governor of Georgia to get his take on the idea.
It is my wish that this proposal would benefit you so that you would be able to do your job without having to worry about someone “pulling the plug” on any projects you are involved in because someone is more concerned about abortion rights than making movies, tv shows, et cetera.
If you have any questions, you can contact me at hendryshannon@aol.com.
Thank you,
George Pierson
OK, I see that you said something. I recognize the fact that you did say something. However, I am unable to determine exactly what it is that you are saying in relation to my proposal. Please clarify your response.
Nothing personal, George Pierson, but I've read in several movie trades recently that most Hollywood companies (if not all of them) are seriously considering to abort or evacuate any film or TV productions over there in Georgia due to your anti-abortion laws. Now when the rest (or most) of us are living in the 21st century, it sure can´t feel good to be forced into a 19th century mentality or values as is the case right now with you guys. Trump and GOP have in just a few years' time managed to cast the once great and proud USA into a living dystopia and nightmare of unimaginable scope. I truly feel great sympathy for the plight of the American people, and I hope (I don't pray) that the righteous Americans will get rid of these human monsters and immoral scavengers ASAP.
And what 19th century mentality are you talking about?

George, as you say you work at a home improvement company, why are you posting your point of view on a contentious subject matter on a creatives social media site? Please explain.
Andrew - excellent question.
GP says, "I would like to propose the creation of an entertainment union, if you will. This union would include every department and division that works in some capacity in said industry, from the executive producer to the maintenance people who keep the standing sets tidy and everybody in between. I think what George is trying to do is unionize the film production industry in Georgia. Which I agree is an admirable goal. I'd suggest you contact the national office of the major craft unions to get their support behind you.
JD Hartman, as I understand it, Georgia is known as the Hollywood of the South, ergo, it does make sense to start from there. However, what I had in mind would be available to people in the entertainment industry throughout the entire country. As far as contacting the national office of the major craft unions would be the best way of starting, unfortunately, it is a fact that the WGA has elected to be pro abortion, and one of the groups protesting against the state of Georgia. Therefore, I do not believe that they would be of any help. What I have in mind is an organization that would be independent of any of these unions for this very reason, as well as the fact that they are showing themselves to be way too political.

What do craft unions and abortion, for or against, have anything to do with each other. If you were trying to organize in Georgia so that everyone could be assured equal treatment, benefits and pay, you'd garner support, but intertwining a right-to-life view probably won't.
J. D., since I still have not received a reply from the governor of Georgia about my proposal, or even a response from a pro life actress that I contacted through her web site, it is obvious that nothing that I say further about this matters. Perhaps I would have gotten a response from them if I was someone important instead of a blue collar worker.
