Hey guys,
I've recently encountered a person who showed interest in financing my short and equity stake in my company. I was spooked, because I did not present him any dockets related to film or my company. Finally, he told me, that he has $25 Million in his bank, need $50,000 for bond and insurance to release the fund. I've met such fraud in the past.
If any investor wish to back you financially, he/she will do it only after seeing the potential in your content. I request you all to stay away from such people. Cheers.

investors who ask for money have the process backwards

I had a similar deal with someone who contacted me through here. I wanted 1 million initially, the investor said that his investor that does entertainment has a minimum of 3 million, so I said ok let's do 3 million. Then they come back and say well this investor wants the full amount of 50 million on a straight loan over 20 years! All with no serious look at any real business plan or script or nothing. I don't think so! Then a few weeks later someone else from here contacted me ready to do a 1.5 million equity deal out of Nigeria which threw a flag immediately. They wanted over 9 grand in international bank transfer fees which is asinine. My bank said no. It's been a ride so far.

These "up front fee" "financiers" show up regularly here. And usually get blocked very quickly.
