Amazing experiences at Stage 32 since last month

I thought completing 3 screenplays was the end of the journey but Stage 32 in the last month showed me that it is just Step 1! After 5 great Stage 32 webinars, I've learned about pitching and query letters as Step 2! I joined the Thurs. pitch practice with Brooklynn and Andy and was able to practice pitching and this past Wed. I was ready to be in the Exec Pitch Tank with Anna Henry and Jason! It is amazing how in 4 short weeks Stage 32 prepared me to pitch and I got positive feedback and encouragement from everyone. Never knew pitching was almost as important a skill as screenwriting. So anyone new here, just wanted to share that along with screenwriting take advantage of the great resources and pitching practice and ops here on Stage 32. Just want to thank RB and Jason for giving screenwriters this great op to further our careers!

You've been stone cold crushing it, Ricki. It's been awesome to see. You're getting after it and not letting anything stand in your way. Keep charging...And thanks for always bringing such energy not only here, but in the Writers' Room as well. Cheers!

Thanks for the warm encouragement! You made my day! Good news--after the Wed. pitch when Anna and Jason suggested I get a letter from the author on whose book I based the screenplay, ;I reached out to her and she wrote a heartwarming letter as to why she chose me over even some famous African American screenwriters to do the screenplay for her book based on an amazing true story of her great-grandmother's horrific struggles who risked her life sewed the secret codes into the quilts which were the road maps for fugitive slaves to travel on the Underground Railroad! as she faced her own conflict of how she can escape the psychological and emotional bondage of slavery herself. Now that I have the script, pitch, and letter complete, I am ready for the next step is to find a studio or exec who wants to produce it. Now that I got the ball to the red zone, I am exploring Stage 32 for the best person to help take it in for the touchdown! Thanks to you and Jason for the amazing platform for screenwriters to further their careers!

That's an amazing story and SO encouraging, Ricki! I've completed one book and am working on another, both of which I'd love to see brought to life on a screen someday... and reading your story gives me hope that I will find the right screenwriter for both, in time. It takes courage and confidence in the screenwriter to hand over your 'baby' and I'm so pleased that you and the author found each other! Good luck with the rest of it!!

Now you made my day, Ricki. Fantastic story. Anna is one of those people/execs who always brings bright, progressive and informed ideas to the table. We love having her in the Stage 32 family.

Thank you Elaine. As you look for a screenwriter, the words of the author in her letter which may help other authors in their search for someone to convert it to a screenplay focused on the fact that she felt that I understood the struggles and theme and had compassion and empathy for the characters and wanted to stay true to the concept, theme, and tone to bring it to life. She felt others had their own "style" and "language" which did not capture the gravitas and epic value of the story. So for those writers looking for a screenwriter, this may help point the way in what to look for, especially if you are telling a true story!

Thank you RB for this amazing Stage 32 Platform. As a screenwriter, I feel like a kid in a candy store with so many amazing webinars for learning, live events with professionals who share tips for us, and all the amazing opportunities for live practice in pitching, and learning by doing and getting feedback on our work both from execs and pros and dedicated peers. So glad I found you! Plus, you and Jason are so responsive to our questions and make us feel supported and encouraged.

Appreciate all your kind words, Ricki. Truly.
