Introduce Yourself : Thought I'd finally say hello... by Ed Bookman

Hey all,

I'm a writer out of Colorado who hopes to do some networking on this site. My name is Ed Bookman but no one calls me by my first name. Ever since I was a kid, it's been "Bookman." Not sure why...

I've got a Screenwriting degree and a Journalism degree and I sell cars because making a living with my chosen degrees is damn near impossible. I need to get out of Colorado maybe.

I've got a few feature and short scripts under my belt as well as a couple of novels. In fact, I've been writing damn near non-stop for the last twenty years and yet... That's right. Still selling cars. I think I pissed off the gods or something.

Anyway, one of my scripts has been quite successful and has won a few awards. It's also gotten a dozen or so offical selections. In fact, I've gotten two offers on it and it made it all the way to pre-production on one of those offers. Then COVID happened. Then it sat for a while. Then they gave it back to me and said they lost their funding. That's when I kind of made that assumption about the gods being pissed at me.
