About Jaye

Hey there!

I'm an upcoming UK indie horror filmmaker with a lifelong love for the genre and a passion to tell unique original stories in the horror space. There's rarely a time when I'm not learning, fulfilling my never ending curiosity or improving myself or my projects and I'm a big believer in "just doing it!"

I started in the industry 2 years ago in 2018 when I finally decided to pursue my passion and started to learn about the film industry and teach myself how to write screenplays. In October 2019, having never been on a film set before, I jumped in and made my first horror short! Within 6 weeks of deciding I was going to do it, I furiously learnt as much as I could, pulled a team together and had my first completed 3 minute horror short.

Throughout 2020 I continued writing, started learning how to edit and colour grade and did a couple more lockdown horror shorts myself. I put my first horror short (UNSEEING EVIL) into the festival circuit which ended up winning several awards in festivals, being nominated for first time director, being screened at Atlanta Horror Film Festival and most proudly placing as a top 20 finalist in Film Riot's MakeFilm Challenge. I also learnt a lot about audio description for films to enable visually impaired individuals to watch films and have since become a fierce advocate of AD.

I'm currently developing Unseeing Evil into a feature, writing a horror fantasy TV Pilot, developing more shorts and POC's and a short form Christmas Horror limited series in similar vain to Tales From The Crypt.

I'd love to connect with other creatives to learn and collaborate more and anyone who also wants to know more about audio description!
