I’d like to thank Kristen Lucas of Goldilocks Productions and her script reader, Tara, for inspiring me to take my screenplay to the next level by encouraging me. They told me my script, with a few structural changes, has “ the potential to be a 5.” Kristen then gave me a key book to read by Syd Field to help me improve my screenplay. I’ve also signed up to get a Hollywood mentor she is hand picking for me. This was all made possible by Stage32. I feel like I am getting better daily with all this expert advice obtained via Stage32!

Hi Jackie. Lots of good services here. Also look at Fiverr.com. They offer services from all over the world that do every stage of development on scripts at a fraction of the cost of others. The catch is to find vendors that have lots of ratings and then read those ratings to see what the experience of others is working with them. Best of luck. The rewriting process is brutal but necessary...)
Yes, Aray. That’s the book. I had bought it previously but hadn’t yet made time to read it. Now I am reading it and discovering lots of helpful information.
Yes!
Sweet!
Jackie Young Hi Jackie, congrats! This is so awesome! I am actually in the middle of this webinar and I think it could potentially be helpful to you to get your script where you want it to be: https://www.stage32.com/webinars/How-to-Better-Rewrite-and-Polish-Your-F... Good luck on your progress!
That's great! I just finished a book by Syd Field, too. He's a great resource.
I gotta little story for you about Syd Field's book. Way back in the early 70's I attended USC Dental School. I had a horribly long commute everyday from Ventura. (I had a kid and husband who didn't want to move to LA). While eating in the cafeteria early one morning two screenwriting students shared a table with me. They were discussing the very first 'how-to'" book Syd Fields wrote. I was intrigued because I always daydreamed stories during my long commute and loved to write. So I bought the book, read it, then ventured to write my first screenplay on my own. I had absolutely no idea if it was good or bad. But it was a wonderful challenge that allowed me to express my feelings about losing a horse due to bankruptcy of our small ranch years earlier. I had no idea what to do with the finished product until I saw a listing in the back of Writers Digest. There was a contest by the Writer's Guild of America, East that had a category for "new writers". So I sent it in. And guess what,? It won! Winning didn't do me a whole lot of good at the time since it was too much too soon - I had nothing else to show. But it sure as hell got me motivated to keep on trying to "get it right", mainly making sure certain plot points got entered by certain pages.
