FilmHub: How My Indie Film got on TubiTV, Amazon US/UK, and China Mobile

In the attached vlog I give my experience using FilmHub to distribute and aggregate multiple independent films and what the process like. I also cover the payout rates for Amazon vs TubiTV and internal distribution concerns. I hope other filmmakers can learn from my experiences.

I accidentally switched the definition of aggregator and distributor. I record in one take and for some reason my mind switched the two (It's an actual vlog, not a polished production).

Great share, Sol. The next Forum One is on February 22 and it would be good to have you there and share your experiences and insight. If you have already signed up, you will get an invite, otherwise check it out at https://ondemand.global/forum-01

Shadow Dragu-Mihai, Esq., Ipg THANKS!!! Yeah, I'd like to be there. Can we record it so I can put it on my YouTube with my normal vlog content analysis at the end (I can vlog it anyways, but I'm asking for official permission to do so and include part of the forum as well)? As you probably already know, I vlog my filmmaking adventures and so far the feedback from other filmmakers has been awesome. I've been slammed trying to get another feature together, but things are looking good.

Sol Roth Well it is recorded, but I don't think most people would want it to go unedited into the wild. Certainly some edits from it could be used.

Shadow Dragu-Mihai, Esq., Ipg Just need some clips for my vlog, is all. Most of it will be talking about what happened and giving my take.

This is fantastic information, Sol! Thanks so much for sharing! Actually, you should consider making this into a blog post for Stage32 as well! Definitely drop an email to Taylor, our Director of Content, who can help you craft a kick-butt post: Taylor@stage32.com

Karen "Kay" Ross Hi Karen! Thanks and I'd be super happy to craft this into a blog entry. It's actually been really fascinating, a really diverse group of filmmakers have reached out to me from this exact vlog and thanked me for my help and had additional questions which I'll be answering in a followup vlog this week. I should be able to draft a written version and I can send it to Taylor. I'd still want to include links to the video entries somewhere (As an actor / filmmaker who's heavy into social media, I'm big on video everything). This was a true vlog after the gym, but I'll frame it and look more pro in the followup due to the response this received.

Sounds good, Sol! Can't wait to read/see the follow-up!

I had it up on Amazon Prime and after a while, I changed it to rent/buy instead of included with Prime and while my viewers went down I made more money. I just got on Tubi and am curious to see how that platform does for me.

Erin R. Dooley Do you have a link to your TubiTV release? Who did you use for your distribution?

Erin R. Dooley

Sol Roth At first I was doing it on my own but a few months ago switched to use FilmHub and that is when I got onto Tubi.

Here's the link to my film on Tubi: https://tubitv.com/movies/577041/a-way-to-forgiveness
