Hi, I'm Matthew — a screenwriter who just left Brooklyn to live upstate.
I've written a horror movie for Warner Bros, a dramedy for an Academy Award-winning producer, and produced a lot of satire videos for the Onion. Still feel like a perpetual beginner though, and I'm currently enjoying two of Stage 32's intensives: horror TV writing and feature producing.
Would love to meet fellow arthouse peeps interested in dramedy, horror, dark comedy, dark drama, etc. Last great movie I saw was PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN. Was skeptical of it getting 5 Oscar nods just because I like PWB's first season of Killing Eve so much better but dang. It was perfect.
Would like a script doctor for a holocaust story, for finding weak points other script doctors did not see. Best, Rutger
Hey Rutger. Would love to chat. I actually wrote a holocaust-adjacent project for producer Arthur Cohn whose won a handful of Oscars (One Day In September, The Garden of the Finzi-Continis) and have done a lot research into Nazi-era Germany from the early 30's on. Feel free to send me a private message with more details and we can discuss if you'd like.
