Hello everyone, I'm so happy to introduce myself to the Stage32 community! First of all, Happy Sunday from Italy! I'm a doctoral researcher in high-end drama and I do industry studies, particularly to understand the complexities that lie behind the actual production of high-end shows. I'm mostly interested in researching under-explored facets of the industry which have to do with the career aspirations of all industry professionals, the industry dynamics within transnational projects, what it actually means to go transnational, etc. I study Italian coproductions like HBO's 'My Brilliant Friend', 'The Name of the Rose' and 'Medici: Masters of Florence'
I can also use research methods to understand audience behaviour and prepare ad-hoc strategies.
But mostly now, I'm intrigued by screenwriting because I am in the writing up stage of my doctorate and I am writing about screenwriting spaces, and the physicality of screenwriting. I have started to jot down some ideas about a potential drama set in my city in Italy, but clearly not being a professional screenwriter I will need some help in the future! ;)
