Underwater Cinematography

I have being recently filming The Red Sea as underwater cinematographer, I only work with natural light, no filters. Using CANON 1DX Mark II and Nauticam Housing. Please let me know what you think of the result ?

Wow, that was gorgeous! And what a fantastic opening shot to set the mood. I really liked how the pacing of the music made the pacing of the fish seem serene. There were a few shots with the small, orange fish that seemed like the motion was jumpy, like jump cuts maybe? It was kind of a cool effect opposite the stingrays, which have a very fluid motion, I'm just not sure if it was on purpose. LOVE the lighting, and the colors are fantastic!

Thank you very much Karen that's kind of you

I think you got some beautiful pictures.

From the underwater cinematography, I also like very much "Blue Planet II".

Vital Butinar

Wow. The images look really stunning! I keep wondering what kind of lens you used and what your settings were to get such a nice and crisp image.

I've been wanting to stick my BM P4K into an underwater bag and try it. But I'm a little hesitant of getting it wet if something goes wrong.

Hey Vital, I use a SIgma Art 20mm, Settings depend on the depth, natural lights, ...i can change several times in a single dive

Vital Butinar

Thank you Olivier Bourgeois . I know lighting changes.

Man I wish I had a GoPro or something in the summer when I see underwater footage.

Olivier Bourgeois

you are welcome Vital, GoPro is just fine the HERO 10 is a good camera for underwater, Stab is great, you can film 4K 120 fps, ... it's a good start ....

Vital Butinar

I've been thinking about it. Since I want to have some basic gear on hand if I want to try something so that we don't need to rent stuff for our own projects.

But if it's a project with a budget then we always rent gear.
