Anything Goes : What Now? by Dana Jackson

What Now?

I’ve been thinking about this for days. The seventh draft of my first feature script, “No Blood Between Us” is finished. What do I do with it?

Offer a script reading exchange with other writers? I know what I like, but I’m new to script writing and may not possess the level of knowledge a more experienced writer needs.

Pay for coverage? That could get expensive. And who is reading my script? Someone who runs errands for a producer? They may be good at analysis, but who knows.

Enter contests and hope for the best? Again, expensive, and waiting 4-6 months for results frustrates me.

To be honest, I used all these methods but I want to know if there is an avenue I’m missing. I joined Stage 32 to improve my networking skills, thereby improving my chances of connecting with someone who I can assist in furthering their career and learn some things that will advance mine.

I’m not expecting a response from anyone. This seemed like the best place to put my thoughts out to the universe and see what happens.

No matter what, I will keep writing.

And the universe says, I'll give it a read, provide feedback pro bono...I only charge you spread some good words around if satisfied.

Depending on the script may provide you some advice on what to do next, but of course can't promise anything. It's a one time offer, next one comes on different conditions.

Thanks for the offer, Kiril. That post was just me putting down my thoughts.
