In this crazy time of COVID, I'm looking for a long-distance collaborator or two. After decades of writing/producing/directing and teaching I am now only a writer. My scripts have strong female leads or female ensemble casts. I'm looking for producers, directors, and yes other writers to collaborate with. I also have no problem with taking the second writing credit and the story credit on any of these projects moving forward. I reside in the Great White North Toronto Canada to be exact, and I am interested in collaborating with anyone from anywhere online while this virus continues to rule our lives which will likely last at least another year or two.

I am currently working on an offbeat rom-com with a female lead, usually, I'm into drama, dramedy, or action with female leads.
I am based in Kigali-Rwanda, mostly working on our ancient stories because we’ve got a bunch of those, untold, and I am wholeheartedly willing to collaborate with you. I find it so hard to have my stories told, due to this pandemic too, so hard to travel.

Paul, nice to know your scripts have strong female leads. There are some execs in Hollywood, that feel that when a male writer writes a female lead role, that the story is not authentic enough. How do the execs in the filmmaking society of Canada feel?
Clayton Dudzic very good question you have asked - honesty I've read the same in so many books... I am a woman myself so no-one would ever say my female leads are not authentic, but I imagine it might be so much different for men. Paul, how is it in Canada?

Hi Paul, after reading your post, I feel that we can connect/collaborate with each other as I have some ideas in my mind and need someone to get those ideas convert into workable scripts.

Interesting that Hollywood believes that. One of the most iconic female leads Ripley from the Alien series was written by a man and the character was written as a male character. Ridley Scott cast a woman in the role without a rewrite. Also, if that is the case then I would gladly work with a female writer.

We are extremely politically correct here in Canada so they would likely say the same as Hollywood, but a female director or co-writer would change that point of view.
Hi, Paul. great. I see you have a keen interest, in female-led roles. I think covid has made teams more remote, as you mentioned. In times of covid etc. I would be interested to know. Are you writing on spec, or is there an agent involved in the project?

I am currently writing on spec. I haven't had an agent since 1990. As a producer, I pitched to broadcasters and then let my lawyer do the deal. I am currently looking for an agent or manager to work with as I no longer produce, direct, have my own production company to help open the doors for meetings.
I write strong female characters too

Asked for an add. I will send details.
My rom-com "Fugitive Sweetheart" has some thriller elements, as three generations of couples are chased through the heartland by a Russian mobster whose ex helped convict him.
