You Never Know- so keep trying

I pitched a script a couple of weeks back in Stage 32 and received an oh hum response of mostly 3s and she was off the phone in 6 minutes flat- she wrote the story didn't interest her. This week I WIN a scriptwriting contest with the same supernatural mystery script! It's all about connecting with the right person.

Congrats!!

Glenn Anthony Maneval Jr

100% correct! I've been in a similar situation. Glad to hear that it was a winner elsewhere. Very uplifting to hear.

Hey Suzanne, this is Karen from the Stage 32 team. I just wanted to let you know I moved your post from Authoring & Playwriting to Screenwriting (since you're talking about a screenplay you wrote), as it fits much better there. Let me know if you have any questions, and all the best to you!

I just decided not to play that game. Did a short film I produced, got a local director who was excited to make it, now we are going to get funding for a feature length version and keep on going from there. If you are waiting for someone else to recognize what brings you passion you may be waiting a long time. Just get going wherever you are and work your way up, build a network of people who believe in you, and dont let people be gatekeepers to your dreams. I know people who have won some of the most prestigious writing competitions and still can't get an agent/manager. If your dreams are held up because youre waiting for someone else to recognize the value of your scripts, you may be waiting a long time. Plenty of incredible movies and books have been passed up many times before they became big. Lots of times people just don't share your vision, or they are busy looking for something else.
