Hey People,
Hope everyone is well. I'm still getting to grips with Stage32 as a newbie and I have my first written pitch to hand in tomorrow. I know how to write a pitch but wondered if there was anything I should think about for submitting it on Stage32 to an executive / developer who doesn't know me at all. I'm also a UK writer pitching to a US developer.
Thank you!

First. Take a DEEP BREATH. Let it out.
Okay. First of all. Pitching, whether written or verbal is about the story you want to tell.
Does your pitch cover the story in the space allotted? Does it convey your enthusiasm for the project?
Have you done all the Editing checks o make certain it's SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation, And Grammar) free?
Well, if your answer is yes to those questions. Then RELAX.
A Pitch is like a job interview. You do your best to make sure that what you have to offer is in line with what the other party is looking for and you go from there.
It doesn't matter if they "know you". Or, if you're "whatever".
What matters is the quality of your presentation.
And remember: They could say no and it will have nothing to do with your script, the pitch, or you.

Hey Alex Gwyther Congratulations on handing in your written pitch. If you like, Stage 32 offers an example written pitch that can help guide your process. Simply email writerhelp@stage32.com and they will provide you with a written pitch example. Keep us posted on how it goes!

You're paying for an educational experience only - what you learn from it is up to you. Learn to be comfortable in a social setting (I include Zoom & Skype) but probably shouldn't.

Despite what some are saying, I’ve had read requests after pitching through Stage 32. I strongly recommend asking for the sample offered. It really helped! Yes, some think you only want feedback on your pitch, but I have a screenplay with a producer right now because of a live pitch. And even the “pass” responses give helpful notes for future pitches
