film making in Saudi Arabia

Hello filmmakers from all over the world

Something has changed in my Saudi Arabia, for the longest time movies and filmmaking was nonexistent in Saudi however with all the great changes Saudi is going through now we now have movie theaters and a young and upcoming film industry.

That brings happiness to my heart and at the same time fear

as I have seen there isn't a profit in the film industry in Saudi and I'm trying to move toward tv shows and documentaries

a worked in Saudi for 7 years as a filmmaker/producer most of my work has been on tv programs and documentaries but recently I worked on one first big budget films in Saudi, it was one of the best times I had in but I didn't know if it's going to be financially good for freelancers and independent films.

I want to hear you're opinion on the movie industry in Saudi and the middle east

and if you need help in Saudi please let me know

Hello Abd, I was glad to read your post. The focus and increase in visibility for MENA region has increased substantially here in the US. With live events beginning to happen again post COVID, and MIPCOM, ATF and other global conferences happening again, I believe that this is one focus area for increased distribution and programming. Do you see this growth there as well? Curious to hear your thoughts. Good to connect :)

yeah the increase is there I see more companies focusing on MENA like Netflix

I think services like Netflix and shahid focus on having more subscribers in the region

there would really be more visibility do you think more companies like HBO and Disney

will have more focus?
