Introduce Yourself : Hi everyone, by Eliesha Steel

Eliesha Steel

Hi everyone,

I'm relatively new here and trying to get out of my introverted comfort zone! I'm a screenwriter. My feature Weightless has just been named a Semifinalist in this year's Nicholl Fellowship, and I also have a drama pilot, and I have a few other projects in the works. I'm working towards representation and just getting more of my work out there. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Michael Tyre

Welcome to the family. The Writer's Room has much to offer. You're ahead of the game with that Nicholl placement. Congrats!

Geoff Hall

Welcome, fellow introvert! Despite it, you seem to be doing quite well. Well done. What do you find is the hardest thing you do as a screenwriter? Pitching? I see you are also a Counsellor. Are you happy with that more intimate of spaces? Anyway, I wish you well and hope you find what you need, here on Stage 32.

Maurice Vaughan

Welcome to the community, Eliesha Steel. Congrats on being a Semifinalist in the Nicholl Fellowship!

I wanted to share these resources with you:

Stage 32 Screenwriting Lounge: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting

Screenwriting Staffing https://www.screenwritingstaffing.com/premium-membership Some gig leads and features on this website are free, but there's a $19.99 monthly fee for more gig leads and features. I've made a lot of connections and got some script requests through this site.

Thank you Maurice Vaughan ! Appreciate the links - i'll definitely check them out

Eliesha Steel

Thanks Geoff Hall too - and yes, I prefer smaller settings, but I have done public speaking as part of my work too - I'm usually ok if I have something to say, and know exactly what that is, but I'm sure its difficult for everyone! Practice is the only way

David P Perlmutter

Welcome Eliesha Steel and congratulations on all your projects. As well as an author and extra, I’m part of the LOUNGE CREW on this fantastic platform. Pop over when you have time. Have a productive week!

Welcome Eliesha Steel and congrats on your Screenplay

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Eliesha Steel. Did working as a therapist help you write your story characters?

Eliesha Steel

Maurice Vaughan Yes, I believe so. It helps me add layers, exploring the impact and reactions they might have...but also, and probably most importantly has really helped me view them with curiosity and without judgement. Or in therapist-speak, 'unconditional positive regard' haha.

Maurice Vaughan

It probably helps you write therapist scenes also, Eliesha Steel. I struggle with those sometimes.

John David Higham

Welcome, coolness and congrats!
