Curious if anyone else watched this series and what kind of an impact it had on you?
We just finished watching it... what a magnificent mini-series about the making/writing/producing of "The Godfather." It was absolutely riveting from the first 15 minutes in, throughout the rest of the episodes.
It's a miracle The Godfather was ever made! This series heartily confirmed what I already knew: that success comes from rolling up your sleeves; you must commit to sweat equity; and never, ever take a "no" from someone who isn't authorized to give you a "yes." If you're looking for inspiration, look no further than Amazon Prime's "The Offer." A million thumbs up!

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the offer!! I found it super inspiring. I think I enjoyed the most how real life influenced the film and vice versa.

Rapt viewer here. Couldn't wait for the next ep. The Puzo/Coppola scenes were a hoot. If watched carefully, one will spot in the background dozens of movie references and in-jokes.
This film faced greater obstacles than, hopefully, others. In general, it's an accurate blueprint of bringing script to screen.

Didn't know about it, thanks. Have you seen "The Kid Stays in the Picture?' The Godfather is one of several major films that get tossed around under producer Robert Evans. Biographical, a little sad, but amazing inside track.

I saw THE KID... Amazing Hollywood tale.
Good thing Evans was a crappy actor.

The projects that Evans oversaw in his time completely defined that decade and generation. I agree about all the movie references and jokes. It enhanced the overall project. Another thing I loved was how much heart the story gave to each of the character's arcs.
Jennifer Strome I have not seen "The Kid," but thanks for the tip. Will look it up.

Absolutely, Gabrielle.
I nearly fell off the couch laughing at the shot of "Brando" looking in the mirror, in character, and saying, "Bonasera. Bonasera."
