Hi Everyone!
I'm a filmmaker from Spain based in Toronto.
My daytime job is as a Visual Effects Artist in big cinema and TV projects. But my daytime goal is to Direct small projects to connect with an audience and make them "dream" my stories.
I have been around Stage 32 for a few years. Still, mainly in the Education and Script Services areas. There's nothing that offers something so valuable as those services anywhere. I wish somebody had created that when I started this business twenty years ago.
But I have never been very active in the Stage 32 community, mainly because of my introverted nature. But also because I've never seen myself as someone who could help.
I'm at the top of my game as a VFX Artist, but I really want to tell stories through images, so although people used to see me as a successful artist, I see myself still in my infancy.
Anyways, now that I realize that I'm, finally, after so many years, a Part-time Director, more Part-time than I would like, but at least, Part-time, I decided to be involved in the community again, but this time as "Part-time" what I really want to be.
I hope to help and have nice and interesting conversations around here.

Great to meet you, Juan Francisco Calero. You're right about the Stage 32 Education and Script Services. "There's nothing that offers something so valuable as those services anywhere." They're unmatched.
"But also because I've never seen myself as someone who could help." Everyone has something to offer that'll help someone.
Glad you introduced yourself this weekend. I'm looking forward to talking with you more.

Nice to have you here. I hope one day we can work together on a project. I currently live in Madrid, Spain. I think you know what I'm talking about, hehe. The artistic world is very difficult here. But you never know where the shots are coming from, so the best thing is to be ready for anything and have your doors always open... a cordial greeting from Madrid and good luck in everything. Robert...

Thrilled you stepped out of the shadows, Juan. Over the last 11 years of running this joint, I've met so many creatives who see themselves as introverted. I considered myself one for a while. The thing all of them have in common is once they dipped a toe into the water by posting and getting more involved, they soon found themselves fully immersed and enjoying every second of it. I hope you'll feel the same way. Very much looking forward to seeing you around the community more often. Cheers!

Juan Francisco Calero Juan, from a fellow introvert who has learned to put himself about a bit, on Stage 32, WELCOME!

I was the same way, Richard "RB" Botto ("I considered myself one for a while. The thing all of them have in common is once they dipped a toe into the water by posting and getting more involved, they soon found themselves fully immersed and enjoying every second of it.").

Hi Juan, thanks for adding me to your network. I like your honesty and bluntness. I'm pretty sure you have a lot to offer if you're at the top of your game in VFX... And then you can learn what you don't know yet from others :D
