Introduce Yourself : Hello! by Brittany Brice

Hello!

Hi, I'm Brittany Brice. For years I've dreamed of writing screenplays for a living and I'm finally taking a chance on doing so! I'm hoping that joining a community like Stage 32 will help me accomplish my dream. I have written at least 3 feature length screenplays and I rewrote one of them recently and am in the process of rewriting a second one. My favorite genre to write is action, but I also write adventure, drama, thriller, and fantasy scripts as well. Any advice on how to hone my writing skills and how to get noticed is greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time and I wish you all luck on your current and future projects!

Shawn Jackson

Welcome to the stage.

Lee Shargel

Hi Brittany, I will offer you as much help as I can. The most important thing I CAN'T teach you is, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! Of course there are many things you can do to hone your writing skills. There are many screenwriting books available. To many to mention but, one of the greatest resources I have ever found is right here at Stage 32. Yes some of it costs money, it's worth it. So budget yourself. I used to teach adult education classes at the college level based on my writing course entitled, "PEELING THE ONION." I have written 23 screenplays and doctored four. Written 5 books (two best-sellers). Presently trying to sell my comedy TV series and two sci-fi features. As Commander Taggart says in Galaxy Quest, "Never Give-Never Surrender!"

One step at a time. You can do it

Hello, Brittany. I’ve been taking a class , which has really been helpful.

Maurice Vaughan

Welcome to the community, Brittany.

You can read screenplays to hone your writing skills. You can also take screenwriting webinars or classes on here (https://www.stage32.com/education).

You can post your projects in the Logline Section of your page. People can give you feedback on your loglines, synopses, and scripts. Producers, directors, etc. browse projects on Stage 32, so posting your projects could be a way to get eyes on them.

Here's the Screenwriting Lounge: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting There are a lot of helpful resources and talented screenwriters there.

Let me know if you need any screenwriting advice or help getting around Stage 32.

Brittany Brice

Thanks so much for all the advice! I have posted one screenplay on here so hopefully it will be noticed, but I will work on posting my other projects as well!

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Brittany Brice. I'll check out your logline.

Clive Martin

Do you target a specific audience, genre and perhaps distribution route? These may well determine the viability of a script. Start at the end (distribution) and write a script which could be made within those perimeters.

Lee Shargel

Hello Clive. This will be my second visit to the AFM. My target audience spans the film spectrum. I am a best-selling author and screenwriter with five books and 23 screenplays. My main target audience is science fiction, comedy for my new TV series, Action and horror. I am hoping to make some new connections and revisit with some old ones. I wanted to screen my thriller film "Beyond the Facade," but didn't make it in.

Shellie Schmals

Hi Brittany, so nice to meet you! Do you have a website for your still photography? I'd love to see your work! And you've made the best decision to jump into Stage 32 - we've got the most supportive community for creatives!

Stefano Pavone

Welcome to the club. :)

Brittany Brice

Shellie Schmals, I don't have a website. I used to have a Facebook page... maybe I could make another page for it.

Maurice Vaughan

Web.com, Wix, and Squarespace are low-cost websites you can make, Brittany Brice (https://www.top10best-freewebsitebuilders.com/us/website-builders/free/). Stephen Campbell made a Squarespace website for his company (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/promotion/Stephen-J-Campbell-2).

Just keep grinding.
